An app for communicating with language partners. I highly recommend it, I learn Spanish with it. A lot of people want to communicate, free, convenient. Only the built-in translator is paid, there are audio messages.

A free course created on the basis of many years of experience and the same mistakes in the pronunciation of Russian-speaking students. For example: queue we like to pronounce, or rather read as kueueue) In fact, it is/kjuː/. A more banal example, many people pronounce key - kay, in fact, there is a long i:, i.e./kiː/.

Website to improve writing skills for all levels, with autochecking: Cambridge exams and IELTS.

Pros

  • free self-testing
  • formatted assignments
  • all kinds of assignments: essay, review...
  • tests for IELTS, Academic and General
  • timer
  • progress tracking
  • notes on grammar and other criteria: organization of the text, formality, informality...

Cons

  • There are exercises for all levels, but clearly for the exams specifically only FCE(B2), IETLS. This is a little confusing, although there is actually no difference.

Grammarly is an editor you can plug into your browser, etc. By and large, it prompts competently, but sometimes fails to see the context and subtleties. If you are preparing for the written part of some international exam, you can use it to check basic errors.

Very much information on grammar, both theory and practice, there are exercises on vocabulary as well. Especially good for elementary and pre-intermediate. Higher levels will be boring. For repeating basic grammar and vocabulary, it's fine, too.

Kahoot can also be played by one person alone. With a class or teacher is more fun, of course, but you can also play alone. Content is often with mistakes, so when you take someone else's quiz, look carefully. Users, too, are people. There is an analogue of Quizziz, very good too and it does not need a pin, you just go right in and play in the app, no need to share the screen and so on. You can use Quizziz on your own more easily than Kahoot.

A tool for self-study,
Option 1:
Create a module by yourself with cards, preferably on 1 topic, there are 10-15 words in the module, otherwise it's too much. The app/site generates games/exercises for you to memorize.
Tip: for the elementary in the sample look for the word in Russian, those translations, for higher levels - choose the value in English.
Option 2:
Look for the right unit, by the right topic or textbook name and unit in it. For example, the same English File has already been done by other users before you.

A good site with competent advice and an adequate explanation of what the Cambridge Examiner wants from you. In short, Cambridge cares about can do statements - what a person can do, not their mistakes. No one will look at every comma, as in the GCSE and USE. All the criteria are described and the grading system is detailed.

Pros

  • completely free content
  • interactive linking words practice
  • test your knowledge of the topics needed for exams...
  • and most importantly, an adequate explanation of exactly what they want you to do in the exam

Cons

  • little interactive content and practice

The course is not for the faint-hearted fans of technical writing, from the pre-intermediate level. The course is quite long and complex, but he who doesn't risk doesn't drink champagne. It's based on different APIs, repeats basic grammar and rules of Microsoft Style Guide for writing easy-to-read technical texts.

Unfortunately, almost all of the current textbooks have been removed, but there are a lot of old ones left and some newer textbooks from less popular editions. So if you're looking for something from National Geographic Learning, you're much more likely to find something from the 2015-2017 edition than you are to find something from the same years and later from Oxford. It's free to use for a modest donation.

Hello Talk is similar to Tandem, but in Hello Talk you can learn only one language for free. For example, I learn Spanish and German in Tandem and I can set 2 languages there and accordingly I will be written by language partners in Spanish and German, in Hello Talk only 1 language is free.
