Dave’s ESL Cafe is truly a must-visit for anyone learning or teaching English as a second language. Its comprehensive resources, active forums, and job boards make it an invaluable tool for both learners and teachers. Despite its simple design, the site’s wealth of information and supportive community more than make up for it. I highly recommend it!

Pros

  • It's filled with grammar lessons and exercises. It provides simple and down-to-earth explanations. Lots of the materials can be downloaded for free.

Cons

  • The materials are mostly for English learners and are not authentic. They can't help learners in search for authentic materials they could practically use.

This is one of my favorite sites to help teach the way words are pronounced in different English speaking countries.

Pros

  • You get real authentic materials that help you understand how words are pronounced. That's the site you would go to if you doubted a word you thought had been misused or mispronounced. This site is definitely worth it!

Cons

  • You won't find any structures or grammar lessons on it.

Cons

  • Available in English only.

That's the place you can go to when you see or hear a word or phrase that you're not familiar with. It's regularly updated and provide different explanations that are easy to understand.

Pros

  • You can find a gazillion of words and expressions that are trendy. Those that you can hardly find in common dictionaries.
  • The website has constant updates.

Cons

  • The information could be a little bit misleading or sometimes inaccurate since the definitions are not mostly not given by scholars nor verified. Most of the slang words are from the US.

This website is an outstanding resource for learning phrasal verbs and idioms using famous TV series. It's excellent at learning, having fun and enjoying words and expressions.

Pros

  • It gives useful and pragmatic words and phrases. The channel has loads of fun and short videos to help understand phrasal verbs and idioms.

Cons

  • The website doesn't have enough videos for beginners to learn and practice English. It somehow lacks structure and doesn't teach enough grammar.
